Change Audio Volume
Make an MP3 or WAV louder or quieter, or normalize it to a safe peak level. Preview before saving — processing stays in your browser.
Red parts will clip (distort). Try a slightly lower volume.
How it works
- Drop an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG) into the box.
- Move the volume slider (0–400%) or press “Normalize” to make the loudest part reach −1 dB. Use “Preview” to listen.
- Pick MP3 or WAV and click “Save with new volume”.
FAQ
What does “normalize” do?
It raises (or lowers) the whole file evenly so the loudest moment sits just below the maximum (−1 dB). It makes quiet recordings louder without distortion.
Why do parts of the waveform turn red?
Red means those peaks would go above the maximum level and clip, which sounds harsh. Lower the volume a little or use Normalize.
